FAQs

How much are your services?

Our services are completely free. There are no consultation fees, ongoing fees, or anything hidden around here! We look forward to helping you find the perfect cozy community for your loved one.

Shouldn’t I just contact the individual senior communities myself?

You could, but that's a very stressful way to approach this! We are familiar with the communities, amenities, care level, and more! We can help speed up your search and take the stress and overwhelm out of it. We create a custom needs assessment for your loved one, and then recommend the most appropriate communities for you to go tour.

We need to move fast. Can you help?

Absolutely. We can shave days off your process because we are familiar with what's available. If you need to move fast, it would be in your best interest to work with us.

How do people pay for long-term care?

Great question! Some people have long-term care insurance in place. Others sell their house to use the equity from the house. Some have savings set aside for long-term care. And, some have adult children who help with the financial burden.

What are the levels of senior living communities?

Another great question!

Independent Living is designed for older adults who are active, independent, and able to manage their daily routines but want the convenience, community, and freedom that comes with maintenance-free living. Residents typically live in private apartments or cottages and enjoy amenities such as chef-prepared meals, social activities, housekeeping, transportation, and beautifully maintained grounds.

While independent living communities do not provide daily personal care or medical assistance, they offer a vibrant, supportive environment where seniors can enjoy friendship, stay engaged, and focus on the things they love—without the burdens of home maintenance.

Assisted Living is a type of senior living community designed for older adults who are mostly independent but need some help with everyday tasks. Residents live in their own private or semi-private apartment while receiving support with things like bathing, dressing, medication management, and mobility.

These communities also provide meals, housekeeping, social activities, and 24-hour staff support, creating a safe and welcoming environment where seniors can enjoy connection, care, and peace of mind.

Memory Care is a specialized type of senior living designed for individuals experiencing memory loss due to conditions like Alzheimer's disease or Dementia. These communities provide a secure, supportive environment with trained caregivers who understand the unique needs of residents with memory challenges.

Residents receive help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and medication management, while also benefiting from structured routines, engaging activities, and compassionate care designed to promote comfort, dignity, and a sense of purpose. Memory care communities are thoughtfully designed to help residents feel safe, supported, and at home while giving families peace of mind.

How do I know if this is the right time to find a senior community for my loved one?

In our opinion, you will intuitively know. It will never be an easy decision. But it will often be the safest for your loved one...and...eventually...the most peaceful for everyone.

Many start in Independent Living where they are surrounded by others their age, and in a community that supports an independent lifestyle. But, if mom breaks a hip, spends 20 days in skilled nursing/rehab, and then is being discharged, most likely it's time to find a safer situation for her. When seniors start needing help with activities of daily living (you'll hear them called "ADLs"), like bathing, toileting, and more, it's probably time to find a good place!

Is it normal to feel guilty?

We're sending you so much love. Yes, it's normal to feel guilty! This is not an easy thing to do. Change is ALWAYS difficult, and when it involves someone we love, and someone who might not want to make this change, it's even more challenging. That's why we're here ,and we offer prayer, a listening ear, and a strong shoulder whenever you need it.

Additional Services

Long Term Care Insurance-Many families realize when placing mom or dad in a senior community that long term care is expensive! They start thinking about their own planning and begin to consider long term care insurance. There are some pretty good options out there that will keep your finances protected. We can help educate you on the various options to find something that will bring you peace of mind!

Home Sale-Often, when someone moves into a senior community, they have a house to sell. We can help with that process, from preparing it to sell all the way through the sale.

FAQs

How much are your services?

Our services are completely free. There are no consultation fees, ongoing membership fees, or anything hidden around here! We look forward to helping you navigate the crazy world of Medicare! Peace of mind is around the corner.

Shouldn’t I just contact the insurance company directly and tell them what I want?

No. They will share their products only, while here at Providence, we represent multiple companies and multiple products and can help guide you to your best match based on your personal needs.

Once I have Medicare, why do I need an annual review?

Things change year-to-year. Your needs change and plans change. It’s important to make sure that your current plan still fits your needs, OR there may be a new plan better suited for you. Plus, we look forward to talking with you each year!

Who is eligible for Medicare?

You are eligible for Medicare if you are 65 or older, and you, or another qualifying person, like your spouse, paid Medicare taxes while working for a certain amount of time, usually 10 years. Also, you are eligible if you are under 65 with a qualifying disability, End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Citizenship or legal residency status and U.S. residency are also required.

If I’m turning 65, when can I enroll?

Happy birthday! You can enroll in Medicare during your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP), which lasts 7 months — the month you turn 65, plus the 3 months before and 3 months after. If you want to switch plans later, you can do that each year during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP), from October 15 to December 7.

How do I know if I should choose Original Medicare or Medicare Advantage?

Ah, yes, the question on everyone’s mind! There is no quick answer as this will vary based on your personal needs, financial situation, providers, and other variables. During your consultation, we will determine which is best suited for you!
